Fear And Threat Are Everywhere Poem by Shalom Freedman

Fear And Threat Are Everywhere

I CANNOT WRITE

I cannot write
I am lost in my own loneliness
Fear and threat are everywhere
Losses and losses and more losses
On the edge of so much going wrong
How will I maintain myself?
How will I help us all survive?
The losses are too much
I am too old and too small
Nothing nothing nothing
I cannot do anything even delude myself with false hope
The losses are too great
And I am too old and afraid.
