Fear Of Exposure Poem by Nuala Lee

Fear Of Exposure

I could be talking to you
From a phase that is
Behind yours.

Your change of attitude
From waiting and patience
To thrusting questions
In raw areas
Bewilders me
Slightly.

The answers that I give
Seem so inadequate,
It frustrates me.
My oversensitivity and
Defensiveness
Riles up against any tint
Of 'should be' 'ought to be',
-Even if what you say
Makes sense.

I clam up against
Questions and answers
Practiced upon me
Cosmopolitan style.
