Fear Of Having Been Told No Poem by Ludolf Dauphin

Fear Of Having Been Told No

If only in my mind
Imaginary love created
Eyes locked, teasing each other
You smile, and me, I laugh
Embraces in time
Love in its fullness
If only having the strength
to face our desire

And, here we are
Tongue tight
Slurping every word
Thinking of you
Stolen glances of the moon smile
While hearts break
We let life slips away
Daydreaming of "what if"
Unbeknownst to her

Even rejecting our happiness
Disillusion framed our minds
as false hope
fed on empty dreams
afraid of having been told no
with no idea of what might be
and could be
If only having the strength
to live our destiny
