Fear Of Intimacy Poem by Edwina Reizer

Fear Of Intimacy

What would you do if you found yourself
alone on an isle, alone except for me?
Do you think you'd allow yourself
to enjoy the intimacy?
Or would the swaying breezes blow
and chase those thoughts away?
As for me, I'd welcome the scene
for a minute, an hour or a day.

If a ship came by to rescue us
how would I ever know
whether or not you'd run to it
even if I would not go?
I guess the answer is simple enough.
You'd dash away like a dart.
And I'd remain on the isle, love,
with just my withering heart.
