Fear...Of Love Poem by Alyssa Wanii

Fear...Of Love

I look at you...there you are across the “sea” life.
It’s not I don’t want to get to know you, but...
I’m afraid...
to get hurt...
to get left behind....
to be forgotten...
I mean for all those people who’ve lost someone, it can be easier to let love in...
but for me...
who has never lost anyone, for fear of these reasons, it can be harder...
Since everyone has always seen me a certain way, i don’t know what to do...
The more you try to get closer to me, the more I try to push away...
As you start to give up and turn you back on me, I yell and beg you to stay, but you don’t listen...
Not really wanting to lose you,
I strip off what and how people usually see me, and jump in...
turning your head you notice what I have done, you run back, and jump in wih me...
Then we are toegther...
I ask you “All through out my life, people have seen me a certain way, and now what do you see? ”
He responds “Everything.”
As we look up to the sky, we notice it’s dark and the moon is full and all the stars are out...
knowing this we start to swim together in the “sea” life.
