Feeling Poem by Micah Munyegera

Feeling

I know,
Yet I know not
The feel of love;
The feel of honesty
The feel of humanity
The feel of forgiveness
The feel of unity.

I know,
Yes I know.
The feel of torment
The feel of lacking
The feel of betrayal
The feel of deceit
The feel of humiliation.

I know,
I do know...
The smell of blood
The vicious dictatorship
The stinging poverty
The dire hunger
The feel of hatred.

But I still know,
The sound of song birds
A shade of hope
A glimpse of freedom
The smell of my rights from miles,
For I write from far away
But I do know.
