Feelings Poem by Daniel J. Leddy

Feelings

Dear Love,
As I lie here on the cool soft earth I think of that day not so long ago, that even though it feels like years ago was only yesterday. We lie here together, my arm around your soldier, looking up at the clouds playing games to see who could find the shape or design in the clouds. I can still hear your cute laugh when I say I think one of the clouds looks like your brothers hair style. I lean over to kiss you but something stops me. A secret long since berried in my heart. The thing which strips my heart to think about. Funny thing is I think about it every time I see you because I am so afraid of loosing you. You turn your head to look at me with that beautiful smile your tongue just parting your lips but your laugh catches in your throat when you see those tears in my eyes. This is the moment, I have to tell you, right now. But I can't. I see the hurt in her eyes when she find that I am hiding something. “Baby, no wait please, I'll tell you. Just come back. But no. She's gone forever.

It's been so long since that day. It's become almost a hidden memory in the recess of my mind. But one day I hear a line from a movie or a song on the radio, I don't even remember what it was that sparked that old desire in my heart for you love. Nut there it is, that old passion to find you and love you again even as a friend. Why was it that I loved you?
Reason
1.Your smile
2.Your eyes
3.The cute way your roled your eyes at me when I say something dumb
4.the way you breath.
5.Your never quite ladylike burp which you never seemed to do around anyone other than me.
6.The way you trusted me with everything.
7.You sarcasm
8.the way you would say I love you to me even with other people partying around us.
9.When you would run to me with your problems
10.When you would cry with your head on my shoulder.

But what am I saying? Why am I saying all of those reasons in the past tense. Maybe there is a chance I can find her.

What was her full name again?

Ahh that's right.

P.S. I love you
