Today I let my wings spread,
They were white against the sunlight,
Big and wide were they,
Today I let myself feel,
As if the lock on my heart was broken off,
I let the tears come down,
Today I held nothing back,
I screamed and laughed,
I cried and let go,
For the first time today,
Today I didn't have to beg,
Today I didn't have to kneel,
Today I didn't give up,
Today I let my wings spread,
They were white against the sunlight,
Big and wide were they,
And that's where I felt freedom
