Female Bat Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Female Bat

softness of heart - a little
then
what difference from male bat?

Does she not hang the eaves?
Have furry ears and eyes
that pierce?
Cry that hoarse even on softest
waves and waters grins?

Waters, waters, waters
she flies over
in
her jurisdiction
keen as the male
sharper a little more
perhaps
sometimes
the female bat then
bears
that makes her Mother-Queen
as any female be.
