Femme Fatale Poem by Stephen S. Yeandle

Femme Fatale

Rating: 5.0

sorrow and defeat
in this
barren pool

no serenity as
algae shrouds
a motionless
lagoon

beneath which
embedded beads
of lidless eyes on
olive skin
stealthily swim

short fangs
can be deadly

respiratory paralysis
and loss of consciousness

no tranquility
in this dimension
walk away
from this fatal
dream
