Fields Of Sorrow Poem by dino evans

Fields Of Sorrow

Listen, children, to my story, if you have the time
Allow the thoughts I now impart, to linger in your mind
Remember what I tell you now, as lives and years unwind
It may give you the peace you seek, and somehow failed to find...

For I have been the broken one, and beaten down it seems
I have crawled the hopeless hallways through the pain of endless dreams
Only to awaken to the sound of my own screams
Pay attention to my words, my tale, and what it means...

The words I write today, are to help the lonely few
Those, who have seen their love depart, beyond their view
For I am witness to this loss of heart, and this is true
That wilted flowers stand in place, of happiness I knew...

Love the one you love, as if no other does exist
Let your feelings show, do not allow love to resist
Do not give in to self, and lose the joy that I have missed
It will leave you to yourself, and will make you feel like this...

To live as I now live, lost, the light that love can bring
Another darkened morning, and the song that sorrow sings
And all the birds, now gone from flight, that lie with broken wings
To know of shattered spirit, I too, know about these things...

So listen if you will, and these things will all be shown
So that I may help you, sell the loneliness you own
Save your heart and mind, keep the love that you have known
And not like me......

To rest in fields of sorrow that I've grown....
