The world weighs heavy on my shoulders
Like the varying bebop of piano keys
The walls in my mind insurmountable
Like the buzzing of a bee in a paper bag
The notes of a jazz trumpet set me free
To the mastery of Scott Joplin
And, the stringed cords that bind my mood
In melody all is forgotten
A mental syncopation of a worldly pace
Non economic or monetary
Blessings distinguished within their grace
A revelation are these revolutionaries
