Fight Poem by Celene Bonin

Fight

This new outlook on existence
Has assassinated my resistance
I have now learned
That all the bridges that you burned

Have never really left your thoughts,
The memory still haunts
But your hearts determination
Prevails over your past ambition

These new thoughts that coagulate
Your soul they rejuvenate
But your fears still impale your mind
Leaving your fears and heart to bind

You never thought you could be happy once more,
But you’re scared that someone could close that door
And leave you broken and dejected
You say this will be the last time you are rejected

But you always turn back
Thinking the pain will lack
But the truth is that life’s not fair
And sometimes it’s hard to bare

But you have to fight
And hold on tight
And wait for your deliverance
Throughout this encumbrance
