Fight For My Life (Pt1) Poem by Payyton Egerstaffer

Fight For My Life (Pt1)

Rating: 3.5

It started with just one tiny cut
They got bigger and bigger
Until my vision blurred
I slumped over hugging my knees
Wondering why I could still feel the pain
I will never forget the look on my mothers face
When she came in and found my nearly unconscious
Body crumbled on the floor
I will never forget the ambulance ride
Because the whole time my family cried
Unconscious too soon
I dreamt of myself
And soon I was awake screaming
I had tubes everywhere
It turned out that they saw I was not feeding myself
My mom was at my side
Eyes red and puffy
She told me I had been out for four days
And I almost didn’t make it
