Beyond Poem by Payyton Egerstaffer

Beyond

A thick fog of awareness seeped through her pores
Like hands of those holding on for life itself
She felt the knowing course through her veins
Exposing what she had worked so hard to conceal
She felt it with every fiber of her being
Even the uncertainty seemed to understand
What she had not expected or foreseen
Was what had happened next
The lights dimmed
Ear splitting applause
And the feeling of self-rightness
This was were she belonged

Short piece that contains so many of my favorite styles. I love metaphor, symbolism, dramatic irony, and your rhetoric is spot on.
