Fill In The Gaps Poem by Sumita Jetley

Fill In The Gaps

In a village, 'neath hills and river's flow,
Lived a Sufi sage, wisdom deep to bestow.
From near and far, seekers would come to hear,
Words of a mystic, in their hearts so dear.

One morn, a scholar came, with pride in his stride,
Books in his mind, knowledge vast as the tide.
He spoke of philosophies, theories so grand,
Awaiting praise from the Sufi's wise hand.

The Sufi listened, a smile gentle and meek,
Then spoke in a tone, both humble and sleek:
'Ah, my friend, in knowledge, find your pause,
For in little, find Heaven's secret cause.'

The scholar, perplexed, sought the Sufi's guide,
'Why dismiss wisdom, in which we confide? '
The Sufi replied, 'In seeking too much,
We lose life's simple, unburdened touch.

In every flower, river's song, sun's embrace,
Lies a beauty unseen in knowledge's chase.
True wisdom is living, pure and clear,
In simplicity, heaven's joy is near.'

The scholar pondered, as he walked away,
Noticed nature's dance, felt the sun's warm ray.
In seeking knowledge, life's joys he did miss,
Now saw beauty in simplicity's bliss.

The Sufi sat still, under the ancient tree,
A picture of peace, in tranquility.
In his carefree aura, a lesson was found,
In little knowledge, life's joys abound.
