Find Me Poem by Arta Krasniqi

Find Me

Rating: 4.0

Find my hand
In the midst of the darkness
Touch my palm lines
With your fingertips
Let your touch
Enter my flesh
Let your presence
Empower the foundations
Of my being
And let there
Never be
Any absence!

This poem could be seen as the polar opposite of THE CLOWN, about a relationship characterized by the tenderest and most sensitive gestures of appreciation. I'm assuming both parties respond in such a way that creates a bond of gentleness. I find this poem very moving. And that comes from the cumulative effect of your word choices: FIND MY HAND / IN... DARKNESS: That's not only a sensitive physical gesture, it is symbolic of the light that true affection will bring into our lives, darkness has no power over such tenderness; TOUCH MY PALM LINES / WITH YOUR FINGERTIPS: again a very gentle touch, but also I think of reading palm lines for learning about the future and the future to be foretold here will be one of mutual joy. This is that rarest of poems: a Love Poem without exaggeration or false display of emotion, expressing the very behavior that will make their love prevail.
