Finding You Poem by Pooja Shanbhag

Finding You

Its on lonely rainy days like these
You rise from oblivion and become so real
You hit me like an Indian summer,
You paralyze me beyond what I can feel.

You resurrect me from fallen ashes,
Surround me like a thousand suns
And just like a blinding ray of light
You come back, come all at once.

Where are those times, those days, baby?
Those promises, we meant to keep
Are some things just not meant to be,
Where are you now, why cant you see?

Through racks of gifts and photos and letters
Fading marks and broken shards of pain
You come back, a new memory on a sheet
And write us out, all over again.

The world stops when your deep eyes smile
Your hands hold me in those hazy dreams
Whats become of you now, what's happened to me
All that I hear are my own loud screams

Where are those times, those days, baby?
Those promises, we meant to keep
Are some things just not meant to be,
Where are you now, why cant you see?
Where are those words, those sweet little nothings
Where is that fire, where is that love
Why do you seem like a distant dream,
Long awaited and far above?

I've fallen time and again, looking for you
Breaking my heart, only to pick up those pieces
I've gone through through water, wind, and sea
Chasing a whirlwind, a deep wide abyss
Answer me, where are you now
Why dont you care, why cant you feel? !

Where are those times, those days, baby?
Where are those promises, we meant to keep
Are some things just not meant to be?
Tell me where to find you, what to seek
I've come so far, come closer to me
Show me that love, that endless fire
Where are you now, why cant you see?
