POEM
FOR THE WIMPS OF THE WORLD


this is a poem for the wimps of the world
may it ring out loud and clear
may they never turn the other cheek
may they know the ecstasy of saying no
may they play to really win
may they know a moment
of perfect meanness

just once
may they forget the house
where their conscience dwells
may they toss humility
like willows to the wind

may they pull the curtain
from behind the little man
in the land of Oz
and like the cowardly lion roar
with newfound courage
