Fire Side (If You Were Here) Poem by Byron Headrick

Fire Side (If You Were Here)

Rating: 5.0

If you were here
We would be
Horizontal
Naked
Laying
In front of a fire
On our backs
Counting Stars Appear
Across the newly Fall sky…
It would be
Crisp
Cool
Your nipples would tell me so
As I would setup and
Lean down over you
Your eyes would sparkle in the firelight
Your nostrils would flare as you take in the scent of me and fire
A smile would spread
As I brush your cheek with my fingertips
And you would say
Something
Funny
Like:
“I was wondering how long you would just lay there.”
Or:
“’Bout time.”
As I would bend to kiss you.
Your mouth opens
My mouth opens
And we would
Hover
Just barely
Almost
Touching
Lip near lip
Stealing each other’s breath.
I would breath.
You would breath.
We would breath
As my tongue
Breaks the air between us –
ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Almost a POP!
As tongues connect
Lips still
Only
Almost
Touching
As we begin to taste each other
Greedily
Tongue to tongue
Twisting, rubbing
Touching, rounding
As we would both
Breath as one
And
You would know that I love you…
That is…
If you were here.

If you were here,
I would not want to stop
As I had promised I would
Before talking you into
Laying outside beside the fire – naked
Besides
Though
You would know
Before you stripped down agreed
Before grabbing the mink blanket
And telling me to get the matches
You would know
That we would make love
You just would not want me to know
That you feel and fully
Appreciate my freaky vibe…

I would finish that kiss
Letting my tongue fall deep into you
Before sucking your lips
And we would kiss
Lip on lip
Pulling, biting
Tripping from top to bottom
Almost forgetting
To stop.
You would moan as my fingers slide
Down
Around
To that
Spot
On your lower back
That I know was made and planned
For my hand
To gently tickle
Smooth circles
Finding y our spine
Tracing up
Then down
Through the valley
Up the rise
To stop
At the dimple that starts the split
Then
Back up, down the rise, through the valley
Then
Back down
Up
Then down
Up
Then down
Up
Then down
And that is how I would take you
All through the night
Bringing your body thigh quivering high
Then letting it gently fall sighing trembling low
Up
Then down
Up
Then down
Up
Then down
Over
And over
Over
And over
Until the fire
Would be nothing more
Than glowing ambers
A fitting metaphor
Of were we could be
That is
If
You
Were
Here.
