didnt know Tanka poetry but it looks like you did what was requested. I imagine feeling and meaning is secondary to making it fit into the Tanka mold. (and Im not saying its a bad poem, just that I use a different style) Google tells me: Tanka is a Japanese poetry type of five lines, the first and third composed of five syllables and the rest of seven. Tanka is the oldest type of poetry in Japan.

The short lived flickering of a firefly, died in the morning, corpses swept up. Somehow the light it gives is what will be remembered by people. Its light, however small is what eternalises and gives meaning to its life. The light lives on in the memories of people. A very thought provoking wonderful piece of art
