Firefly Eyes Darkness Dreams Poem by Janyoon Poisonous Flowers

The world's a blur, a muted, gray expanse,
A heavy cloak that steals my every glance.
I wander lost, a ship without a sail,
Adrift in fog, where shadows never fail.
My heart, a hollow echo in my chest,
A constant ache, a never-ending test.
The joy I knew, a flicker long since gone,
Replaced by grief that lingers until dawn.
I search for light, a glimmer in the night,
A beacon burning, ever so bright.
But all I find are whispers in the breeze,
And memories that bring me to my knees.
My firefly eyes, once sparkling and so clear,
Now dim and dull, reflecting only fear.
They search for hope, a reason to believe,
But find instead a sorrow I can't leave.
This heavy weight, it binds me to the ground,
A silent scream that makes no single sound.
I long to rise, to break free from this chain,
But darkness holds me, whispers through the rain.
Yet still, a spark, a tiny ember glows,
A fragile hope that stubbornly still grows.
Perhaps one day, my firefly eyes will see,
A path through darkness, leading back to me.
