Firelight Poem by Jo Lynn Ehnes

Firelight

Firelight is dancing
on warm silken skin
where an oil painting is crafted
with delicate strokes;
her glowing blue embers
reflect in cool amber eyes,
engaging the depths
of his smoldering soul.
A gentle persuasion
of water-fall kisses,
an inviting touch
lays kindling over ashes;
a spark, then a flame,
his spirit reignited,
then slow teasing brushes
paint burning desire
on ivory satin skin
as firelight dances.
