imagine you, standing there.
Ahead of the crowd, looking up into
your beautiful sky -

fireworks, pirouetting into the night,
lighting the distance; a flash darting from the earth

and you.
like a statue in grey, forever still -

watching; mesmerised.

and me,
willing you to move.
wanting you to face me -
wishing that you would.

you know, i've seen you in these endless wanders,
wrapping your sadness in laughter -
a laugh that lights
my beautiful sky,
like fireworks in your own.
