Rugged and steady and armed they were
Worn western hats perched on their heads
Guns drawn and ready to fire
As they were filled with a round of lead
For it was in Yukon at high noon
A crowd had gathered by now
Breaths were held in anticipation
Knowing the blasts would be very loud
They were tough you could tell immediately
Long mustaches draped below their nose
A flash of history from the past
Was apparent by their western clothes
Ladies too were dressed in western attire
Feathers adorning their hats
It was exciting, I’ll tell you, my friend
From where the onlookers sat
An occasion folks will always remember
For it was for strong men and their sons
A way to celebrate this time of year
By the firing of the Christmas guns!
