First Poem by Genevieve Pilat

First

Rating: 4.5

First one to notice you from afar
First one to feel that romantic spark
First to walk towards you and say the first hello
Thus being first with our initial mark.

First to exchange numbers and make the first call
First one to plan out our date
First to take the initiative and give the first kiss
First to think what we have is great.

First to ask for date two and repeat again
The cycle of meet and dine
Until the day where I make the move
And ask first if you'd be mine.

First one to give nicknames so cute and sweet
First to just cuddle with you tight
First to confess my love to you
First to ask you to spend the night.

First to take lead in our blissful act
First time ever with a guy
Yet slightly let down by the abrupt passionless act
First time to fake it and lie.

First to find annoyances in the little things
You tend to do consistently
First to argue and bicker in lost cause fights
First to see you a bit differently.

First to see someone else on the side
First one to have an affair
Our spark that was there is now no longer
First one to be fully aware.

It's tragic that it's come to this
Our relationship is at its worst
So first to end what we had and break your heart
Cause I don't want my heart broken first.

This makes an interesting reading till we reach the concluding part of the poem when everything turns opposite of a romantic and passionate relationship. Quite sad. First to walk towards you and say the first hello First to take the initiative and give the first kiss First to ask you to spend the night. Our spark that was there is now no longer
