First Love - For January, My Wife Poem by Zane Gilley

First Love - For January, My Wife

Renewed sunlight rebirthing green array,
Above, below - The heated life is brought
To vibrant hues in March, April, and May
Upon which youthful eyes in verdance caught.
Past flow'ry days and green, then ripened fruit,
As leaves begin to fail from green, yellowed,
To orange and reds, with wrestled browns ensued
Maturely rainbowed crowns arboreally bestowed.
Yet, is not love more beautiful than this,
When first the passioned hues with blazened flow'r
Does force the eyes to vivifying bliss
Then onward to the strength of aging pow'r?
It matters not as much with first love's fling
But wisdoms that enduring love does bring.
