First Snow Poem by branton lansdale

First Snow

Crisp fresh air
Cool to the touch.
Here and there
There was snow everywhere.
White so bright
Blinding pure light.
Reflections you can't see
But on a thick white sheet.
Holds the cold in
But it sinks when
You take a step on it.
The fresh winter snow
So slushy so cold,
Unnoticed in the air
None seem to care
Until it hits the ground
And it lays all around.
In it the people play
Until it melts away,
Then it's lost it's fun
Till a new round has begun
Of snow falling down.
Crisp and cool,
Little white pools
Of snow and slush
As a white sheet
Again covers the ground.
