Fixing A Flat Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Fixing A Flat

Rating: 2.3

First thing to do this first Friday in March
is find the hydraulic jack in the garage
buried in the clutter of shovels and rakes
dig it out and remove the flat tire
on the vehicle parked in the driveway
tilting like a three-legged hound

But before I undertake that onerous task
I'll glance through the papers
finish my spartan breakfast
of coffee and hard roll
check today's to-do list
and find something
else to do!
