Flames Begin To Flare Poem by Mark Stevens

Flames Begin To Flare

Oh how bad it was to see
What could have happened to me
If I'd been standing there
When the flames began to flare.

How could people do it?
It makes me feel sick.

I don't believe any religion
could promote the loss of life.
Of anyone at all,
let alone the innocent people.
Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
What did they do to deserve it?
Were they all bad in a former life?
What happened to love for one another?
Why cause this trouble and strife?

This is just something I wrote when I was thinking about the recent events at Glasgow Airport and the failed London car bombs.
