Flare To The Flame (The) Poem by David Thomas

Flare To The Flame (The)

Burning
burning burning
fast and bright
burning like thunder
echoing through the night
burning faster and faster
beating like a healthy heart
the cracks and tears all patched up,
the crystal core taking shape once more
to bloom a full shiny red rose
out of the bossom of this now man,
burning brighter
brighter than lightning in the sky
brighter than the spark between the lips
as these two lovers fantasize of the kiss,
brighter than the sun burning eons and eons
giving birth to life and death
oh the distance and how it matters so,
like a dark clamp on a lightbulb
the stormy rain to the elegant lightning
the silver lining to the darkest thunder cloud,
distance of which this fire spreads vast,
passing over peoples and places
and all kinds of obsticles
simply to ignite against her spark,
the tiniest, littlest flare
to what will forever remain-
despite any kind of fame,
as the world's biggest flame.
(Oh how our never ending flame burns...
on and on and on...)
