Flares Of A Russian Sun Poem by Matthew Peel

Flares Of A Russian Sun

She rises
Cascading a brightness
Upon any mortal man
Weak in his heart
And heavy in his mind
Only she clears the clouds
And opens the sky
To let the rain fall
And wash away
The mundane
Burning so bright
She evaporates any distressed
Feelings burrowing themselves
Into a scorched core
Illuminating once forgotten
And left for dead
Notions and concepts
About the art of love and
Embrace, she rises and falls
So elegantly that you cannot help
But get lost in the beautiful flares
Be warned though
If you try and put her out
The burns and the wounds
May never heal
And you're left standing
On a wretched hill
Wondering where that
Beautiful sun went
Convinced she'll return
Even if the darkness prevails.
