Flicker In The Dark Poem by Kimberly Crumpler

Flicker In The Dark

Amongst the stars within the night,
the flery planets that flicker bright.
On a dark and quiet shore,
I stare and stare til they glare no more.

Again I see a glare, a spark,
a flicker in the dark.
It jumped, it danced, it burned to be,
trapped in the light, it searches to be free.

There it lives within the fire
and with each flicker, reaching higher and higher.
To live and love with each breath,
for in a moment it could be death.
