Flip The Switch And Let Me Sleep Poem by Biff McGuire

Flip The Switch And Let Me Sleep

I can't have sex with Lisa and Lori
If my Yamaha’s cam needs adjusting
The next job I start breaks the pool tables heart
And for Mom’s meat loaf dinner I’m lusting

My truck needs a coil and maybe some tires
Rapala’s the lure of my choice
If I don’t get to work once on time I’ll get fired
Karaoke’s a killing my voice

Let me sleep now, I’ve done nothing wrong
To deserve all these thoughts in my head
“I can’t let you do that” sing just one more song
If I don’t get some rest I’ll be dead

We all need a switch, a breaker or fuse
So our minds don’t short circuit so much
When we can’t stop the thoughts then ourselves we abuse
With the meaningless words that remind us of such

The zoo has an ostrich, my dog stole a sausage
Please turn off my monitor now
Ah finally sleep, it must really be true
‘Cause the moon just got jumped by a cow
