Floating In Air Poem by Mimie Durand

Awakened abruptly from a deep sleep
the dream you had seemed real,
you dreamt of floating above your bed
looking down at yourself surreal.

You try to recapture the feeling
there is nothing that could compare,
each night you wish for its return
the feeling of floating in air.

As you close your eyes each night
you will yourself to dream
one night you came close to its rapture
yet, couldn’t come close to its theme.

You forget in time about your dream
it’s hidden deep in your soul
suddenly the dream you recapture
you successfully reached your goal.
