Flower Petals Poem by Kira Nowick

Flower Petals

Some petals are soft and beautiful, yet delicate to touch
Just simply holding it in your hand can bruise it.
Really it depend on the hand that holds it,
Like the hand that lets the petal stay on it with an open palm,
So that the slightest breeze may brush it away,
But in the end it will not be bruised
And will lightly blow away
To another palm
Or fall to the ground
And shrivel up,
forgotten.
That is not to say
That all petals are beautiful,
For others may not be as nice,
be course and/or dull
Yet may be stronger then any other
And less likely to fall.
