Flowers For Friday



what flowers for Friday?
what petals to kiss your feet
as you tread towards morning
and tremble in dread of today?

a sunrise without sunshine
besieges the slouching horizon

and the daughters of the sun,
so unique in yellow-
Must adorn their hair in gray
and tread in dread of today
