Fly Poem by timothy hawkes

Fly

i was walking once, direction - unknown,
thought it was left but i'm never right.
if i had wings i could have flown,
but who needs flight when you can roam,
i always forget that i'm alone but it's alright, my heart is my home.
At night my seed is sewn, unable to grow.
i should have no regrets, but i should have flown.
if i close my eyes and think of things, with every thought turned i spread my wings.
for each new day time brings, a new question arises
but my hope thins.
if by chance i do fly away, i can't hope but i can pray
my destination is yesterday.
