Focus - Poem by Roy Merchant

AH..YOU COULD HAVE SAID..
YOU WERE GETTING WED
AND TELLING ME GOODBYE
THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A HINT..
THAT THE LOVE HAD A TINT
AND THERE WERE NO MORE TEARS LEFT TO CRY

WAS IT A GAME..
OR WAS I INSANE
BELIEVING..I WAS SHARING YOUR DREAM
YOU COULD STILL HAVE BEEN QUEEN..
I WOULDN’T HAVE CREATED A SCENE
FOR I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH IT WOULD SEEM

THERE ARE MOMENTS IN TIME..
WHEN WITHOUT REASON OR RHYME
YOU'RE THE TOTAL FOCUS OF MY MIND
I SEEM TO CLOSE MY EYES..
ONLY TO REALISE
THAT..INVISIBLY..
MENTALLY..
ACHINGLY..
YOU'VE BEEN STANDING THERE..
ALL THE TIME.
