Follow Me Poem by Edwina Reizer

Follow Me

Will you follow me wherever I go
and run to catch my hand?
I will slow my footsteps gladly
and let you take command.

Will you catch me to your shoulder
and wipe away my tears?
I will stay quite still and listen
to the rapid breaths I hear.

Will you take me wherever you go
and keep me by your side?
I will never falter with my steps
for with you I can abide.

There will come a day for both of us
when time will play the thief.
We'll be left with our memories
of these pleasures, oh too brief.

So follow me and catch me
and take me wherever you travel.
For I want these memories to stay with me.
Without you they'll all unravel.
