*Food or Books*
Oh, the eternal strife,
Food or books, which is life?
My stomach growls with glee,
'Pizza! ' it screams, 'Forget Hemingway! '
But then my brain pipes up,
'Wait, what about that literary sup? '
A juicy burger vs. Austen's pride,
My taste buds clash with my bookshelf inside.
I crave a taco, crunchy and bright,
But Dickens beckons, 'Read me tonight! '
Fries or fiction, which to choose?
My belly and brain in culinary blues.
I devour a novel, oh so fine,
But then I'm hungry, all the time!
A sandwich whispers, 'Come and bite, '
But Shakespeare's sonnets ignite.
This epic battle, day and night,
Food or books, which takes flight?
I'll find a solution, don't you fret,
I'll eat and read, and never forget!
That's my compromise, so divine,
Food and books, a perfect combine!
Now pass the pizza and that novel too,
I'll munch and read, in harmony anew!
