Foolish Poem by Christopher Montalvo

Foolish

As human beings,
We chase our foolish dreams.
Hope to make it to the next level,
Without noticing,
How much we're sacrificing.

Hoping your glorious dream,
Has sufficed your hunger,
and has made you much stronger.
Dedication to the art,
Thinking you were smart,
and had everything figured out,
But it only set you
and your friends apart.

As you captured the dream,
Dashed through the finish line,
You wondered,
Was it really worth the pain?
Too late to change,
So as you turn around,
You're facing an empty background,
Just reached your milestone,
But now you're all alone.
So in the end,
With no family or friends,
It's time to count your losses,
and begin your journey again.
