Fools On Parade Poem by Corey Culler

Fools On Parade

In this world, sickening,
here is where my heart lies,
this fiendish plot, thickening,
this is where salvation dies,
a life left with no faith at all,
the sun has set on these lands

We've lost so much today,
pretending the picture is perfect,
not knowing our very defect,
our minds on holiday,
like fools on parade

These thoughts,
taught me not to think at all,
these thoughts,
made me such a fool,
these thoughts,
carved a hole in my heart,
please, just make me understand that it's all a dream

We've lost so much today,
pretending the picture is perfect,
not knowing our very defect,
our minds on holiday,
like fools on parade

we take part in this mystic charade,
giving in to the politician's tirade,
can't stop this endless masquerade,
we are all just fools on parade
