For A Friend. Jlh Poem by Lucas Pate

For A Friend. Jlh

Eyes of the deepest caramel.
So irresistible, so easy to get lost into.
the twinkle of her eyes is brighter than the northern star.
Her smile,
Makes everything worthwhile.
The only pebble in the river that truly stands out.
A diamond among the roughest rocks.
A huckleberry among poison-berries.
Her presence.
Oh her presence!
It's a double edged sword.
she makes me nervous.
She makes me sweat.
When i see her, my pulse starts racing.
I cannot hear my thoughts over my pounding heart.
Finally she says, 'hey there'
Wanting me around,
Lets me know that she cares.
She is a lily among dandelions.
A cool breeze on a warm summer day.
A hot bath on a gray, lackluster day.
More than anything,
She is my greatest friend.
