For An Insomniac Poem by Anisa Tara

For An Insomniac

I wandered the night sky
Touching its tethered lights
Scattered specks of glitter
And smoldering outbursts
Eviscerating my eyes

Fires are stoked that ignite
Only when I look away
Two ripe brown cherries
That have lingered forever
Though I no longer see its face

Paired moons that blossom
Across every tarry night
Half-asleep, starved tulips
Resisting all manner of rest
So indisposed and resigned

Light-years separate us
Constellations unaligned
From islands of yearning
I've traced their origins
Though obscured in sight

Mine pool with salt
Though your ache is slight
So before dawn encroaches
On their sleepless plight
I hope they rest tonight

Beautifully inked on the wander of night sky. Nicely crafted. Loved it. Thanks.
