(for Dónall) A Deserving Case For Love? Poem by Janice Windle

(for Dónall) A Deserving Case For Love?

Rating: 5.0

Do I deserve
your promise of eternal love?
I ask myelf, and myself replies
'Of course you don't deserve
but listen, hear how your heart cries
'Yes, yes, yes', and your reserve
is shattered by his diamond blade,
his words of love that cannot be gainsaid.'

And thankfully I rest at last.
I've found the man to free me
from the past.

Wonderful poem, Janice. The question about deserving someone's love arises often, it actually arises always when we feel happy. Maybe there is a fear of losing something if it is not deserved. It is so human, sincere, touchy your poem and the fear beyond the words perceivable... It comes to me to say, do not be afraid, everything will be allright :) . Best wishes, onelia
