Love is not an imperative
in marriage --but money:
no woman would enter into it
if there were no security
Women of Jane Austin are Always dependent on men for a living, selling their love. Never thinking of earning a living, their own income, their own life. This seemed too vulgar. Women were pictured in poor shade by her.
I never liked Jane Austin, after I grew up. Pride and prejudice Little women, nothing. For this very reason: women are pictured just looking for moneyed men, looking to hook them, no true love. Always looking for the security of money.
