For Mummy And Daddy Poem by Jenny Elvy

For Mummy And Daddy

Rating: 5.0

Don't worry if you have to work all hours,
I still think you have super powers.

Don't worry if you have to tell me off all the time,
It's just so when I'm older, I will not turn to crime.

Don't worry if sometimes you feel quite sad,
I know that at times, I tend to drive you mad.

Don't worry if all day long you cannot sit and play,
I like my independence, it helps me along the way.

Don't worry if the house is not always squeaky clean,
With me around it will always end up like a battle scene.

Don't worry if I'm in the clothes my brother wore when he was small,
For as long as I am comfortable it doesn't really matter at all.

For you feed me and you clothe me. You love me and you care,
And I know that when I need you, you are always there.

Beautiful couplets, nicely put together. An honest and forthright portrayal of guilt that parents often feel towards their kids. Thanks for sharing and do remain enriched.
