For My Sister Poem by Kristi Wilkinson

For My Sister

Rating: 5.0

My sister, so beautiful and vibrant,
You are gone many a mile.
I think of you often,
You always manage to make me smile.

Remembering the good times
When we were so young,
You and I, we always played
And had a lot of fun.

You took me everywhere,
Like a big sister should.
Showed me some life lessons,
Worried I would end up in the hood.

Raised me like I was your own,
Took me down a road neither of us knew.
One step at a time, that is what we did,
Sometimes not having a clue.

Made it through those rough times,
Often having some laughs.
Surely you wondered,
“will she even last”

Went out into the big bad world,
Taking it by the horns,
Just like the day
That I was born.

I’m all grown up now,
Keeping in touch.
You live clear across the country,
I miss you so much.

Now we are older,
You, with a family of your own.
I couldn’t ask for a better sister,
For it’s you that I so adore.
