For What Little Hope Remains Poem by Brandon Nothing

For What Little Hope Remains

I deplore the days I spent waiting for today
For nothing on this day brings belief
Ignition does not light my fuel less heart
Nor the wet branches of once tall trees
Blending with the ashes of forgotten leaves
They may die in the hallows of my hopeful heart
I long for a day which may never come
Maybe tomorrow will be brighter,
A new dawn brings upon nothing
But the promise of another morrow
And that the presence of another dawn
I deplore the hours I spent kneeling
Crying to the beyond for a higher purpose
For my darling, the sea parts in mazes
God works in strange ways but I am not one for riddles
I am a flood
With greens lusting to be understood
A bouquet of doubt holds to my chest
I have little rest
Heaving sighs contagious
This life is a waiting room for a greater purpose
